Use precise catalogue entries, presentations and document requests. Avoid relying on generic certificates, unrelated product files or claims of equivalence based only on a competitor name.
Compare the complete supply model
Bulk, filled unlabelled, private label and technology transfer assign different work to the buyer and manufacturer. Compare local equipment, staff, packaging, documentation, lead time and total implementation effort—not only the material price.
Evaluate communication and change control
Confirm who answers technical questions, who approves samples and artwork, how revisions are identified and how changes are documented before repeat supply.
Plan from pilot to repeat order
Agree what the first evaluation should prove, how acceptance is recorded and what scale follows. A reproducible commercial relationship needs a defined product and packaging baseline.
Send an RFQ that can be evaluated
Include product categories, exact entries where available, quantities, annual forecast, packaging, destination country, required documents and launch schedule. The quality of the brief determines how accurately a supplier can respond.
